A recipe publishing platform built with Astro.js, Strapi CMS, and Meilisearch - featuring a custom AI plugin for generating recipes and images, fully optimised for speed and SEO.
Challenge
LeleRecipes needed a modern recipe publishing platform that would be lightning fast, highly visible in Google search, and easy to manage at scale. Key challenges included instant search across a large and growing recipe catalogue, the ability to populate the platform with content efficiently, and ensuring globally fast response times for visitors.
Solution
The entire project is written in TypeScript - from the frontend through to the custom Strapi plugin. We built the frontend with Astro.js and fully optimised it for speed and SEO. For recipe management we set up Strapi CMS with a Meilisearch integration for instant search across the full catalogue. The platform is hosted on Cloudflare with a global CDN, ensuring minimal response times regardless of visitor location. We developed a custom Strapi plugin for AI-powered recipe generation - content is produced by a configurable AI model of choice, while images are generated by Google Gemini Flash - enabling fast, scalable content production at high quality.
